About S.R.Hanford Consulting
My name is Samuel Reid Hanford. I share my first name with my father, so I have used my middle name, Reid, for my entire life. Like many mechanical engineers, I grew up fascinated by mechanical things. In high school, I worked at a local bicycle shop; then for various periods before graduation, I worked at small and large manufacturers of technical products.
I have A.S., B.S., and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering. Early in my career, I obtained a Professional Engineer license for Connecticut. I am a patent co-holder and have presented and published a paper at the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Winter Annual Meeting. I have taken several graduate courses in Finance and completed a Certificate in Supply Chain Management from M.I.T. I have attended many seminars and conferences and managed customer and supplier visits in many countries. I currently serve on a well-known regional university's Board of Advisors of the School of Engineering.
I progressed through engineering positions and then to management positions, with the last 23 years having P&L responsibility. After 41 years, I retired as Vice President of a well-known specialty manufacturer's engineering and product group. I am now offering to put my experience to work for you to evaluate your candidate's business, process, or product.
